The release date of the new MMO game set in the Dune universe, Dune: Awakening, has been postponed. The game, developed by Funcom, was initially set to be released on May 20, 2025. However, with the latest announcement, the release date has been updated to June 10, 2025.
The new Dune game is coming later than expected
Funcom announced the postponement decision and stated that this period will be used to improve the quality of the game. The company announced that they are in the process of evaluating the feedback received during the closed beta process and that they aim to make the game more ideal during this three-week period.
A “beta weekend” will be held in May to reduce the impact of the postponement on players. As part of this event, players will have the opportunity to try the game before it is released.
Dune: Awakening will be a survival MMO game set in the universe of Frank Herbert’s science fiction classic Dune. The production takes place on Arrakis, the desert planet at the center of the series. While trying to survive in this harsh and hostile environment, players will also search for the universe’s most valuable resource, melange.
Large maps, exploration elements, resource management and interaction between players are among the game’s basic dynamics. The Dune series has recently gained popularity again with the movie adaptations that have been released.
Dune: Awakening, which has carried this interest into the gaming world, is among the highly anticipated productions. So what do you think about this subject? You can easily share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
