Apple CEO Tim Cook announced at the meeting where the second fiscal quarter 2025 results were evaluated that the new Siri features developed by the company under the roof of Apple Intelligence would be delayed. Cook stated that the technology has not yet reached the desired level of quality, but that significant progress has been made in the development process.
The new generation Siri is quite ambitious
Apple has initiated a comprehensive transformation process on Siri in order to offer an advanced digital assistant experience. The new version, which was first introduced at the WWDC 2024 event, was planned to be offered with an update to iOS 18. However, with the official statement made at the beginning of the year, the release date was postponed, saying that the software needed more development.

The new Siri is expected to cease being a system that only responds to voice commands; and become an artificial intelligence assistant that can perform complex tasks. Apple emphasizes that user data will now be processed within the device, thus creating a more secure infrastructure.
Following the delays in the development process, Apple also made changes to the internal structure of the company. John Giannandrea, who was responsible for Siri’s development process, was removed from his post and was replaced by Mike Rockwell, who was previously head of the Vision Pro project.
The new Siri is planned to be available with iOS 19. However, it is not yet clear whether the software will be available in the first version or with future updates. So what do you think about this?
