Jeep’s Compass SUV, which has achieved global sales success of over 2.5 million units, has entered production in its third generation. Manufactured at the Stellantis-owned Melfi factory, the new model is built on the STLA Medium platform, representing the brand’s technological transformation.
New Jeep Compass Production Begins
The new Compass is offered in three different power options: hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric. The entry-level models include a 145 hp e-Hybrid and a 195 hp plug-in e-Hybrid, while the most powerful version is a fully electric model producing 375 hp, with all-wheel drive and a range of 650 kilometers.

In terms of design, Jeep focused on efficiency, improving aerodynamics by reducing the vehicle’s drag coefficient to 0.29. This change was achieved without compromising interior space or usability.
Maintaining its off-road capability, the vehicle stands out with its ground clearance exceeding 200 millimeters and water wading capacity of up to 480 millimeters. Furthermore, the Selec-Terrain system and sensor networks providing 360-degree protection support both safety and off-road performance. Improvements in approach and departure angles enhance the vehicle’s maneuverability in challenging terrain.
Manufactured at the Melfi plant in Italy, this massive 1.9 million square meter facility is one of Stellantis’ most important centers. Employing over 4,600 experienced personnel, the factory has completed the production of more than 2.3 million Jeep vehicles since 2014.
The new generation Compass will roll off the assembly lines in Melfi and be sold in 60 different countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. The launch date for the new model in Turkey, which will be part of the global market expansion, is set for February 2026.
