Mercedes has officially unveiled the new GLB Series family, which has been teasing for some time. This model family, transitioning to a completely emissions-free future, has grown in size and increased its technology while adopting a more modern look than before.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLB has been unveiled
The exterior design of the new GLB maintains the angular lines that preserve its off-road vehicle origins, but with a new design language, it achieves a contemporary feel. The traditional grille has been modernized and equipped with technological details.

This illuminated grille houses LED stars with 94 different animations. The central star will be fully or partially illuminated in different markets.
The wheel designs, which enhance the model’s aerodynamics, are available in sizes from 18 to 20 inches and with a variety of aerodynamic features. The extended wheelbase offers increased legroom for passengers, especially in the second row.
The vehicle’s cabin is entirely focused on technology. Customers can optionally purchase the MBUX Superscreen option. This equipment combines three screens within the vehicle onto a single surface. This option: The 10.25-inch instrument cluster includes a 14-inch infotainment screen and passenger display.
The most significant technological innovations are in the software. The GLB, which will use Mercedes’ in-house developed MB.OS operating system, will be integrated with artificial intelligence systems, a necessity today.
This system, said to be more efficient than a voice assistant, uses data from Microsoft and Google. Thanks to this integration, the navigation system is now Google Maps.
The increased wheelbase provides more space in the cabin. The German manufacturer has also made improvements to the passenger seats to increase comfort. According to Mercedes, the rear seats have wider legrests and can now be adjusted by up to 140 mm.
The GLB also excels in storage, offering 540 liters of luggage capacity in the 5-seat version and 480 liters in the 7-seat version. With the rear seats folded, these figures increase to 1,715 liters and 1,605 liters, respectively. Rear-wheel drive versions also feature a 127-liter front luggage compartment.
The new GLB was introduced as an all-electric model with an 800V architecture. It offers a net battery capacity of 85 kWh. Mercedes claims that the system, called Electric Drive Unit 2.0, improves fuel economy.
This system provides a range of over 600 kilometers for the two announced trim levels (GLB250+ and GLB350 4Matic)—631 kilometers and 614 kilometers, respectively. The model also maintains its competitive charging speed. Mercedes announced a maximum charging speed of 320 kW. This means this 2,200-kilogram model can reach a range of 260 kilometers with a 10-minute fast charge at a suitable charging station.
The new Mercedes GLB-Class will be available in Europe starting at €59,398. The model’s arrival in Turkey has not yet been announced.
