MSI is reshaping its moves in the handheld console market. The company, which is trying to make a place for itself in this field with the Claw series, may end its cooperation with Intel and switch to AMD. According to the claims, the new generation MSI Claw model will feature AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor.
The new MSI Claw will come with an AMD processor
MSI used Intel-based hardware in the first Claw model. However, Intel’s processor performance in portable devices fell behind AMD solutions, especially in terms of energy efficiency.

This situation led to Claw not meeting user expectations in terms of both performance and battery life. It is claimed that the company turned to AMD for the new model after this experience.
The Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme to be used in the new handheld console has an 8-core structure produced with the Zen 5 architecture. On the graphics side, there is an integrated GPU based on the 16-unit RDNA 3.5 architecture. This structure will create a strong foundation for the high-performance gaming experience expected in portable consoles.
Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme doesn’t carry the “AI” emphasis in its name for nothing. There is a special NPU (neural processing unit) inside the processor. Thanks to this unit, the device can work on AI-based tasks without putting a load on the processor or GPU.
The active use of AI in image enhancement, power optimization, audio processing and interface interactions will directly affect the overall user experience of the device. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
