Tesla is strengthening its market presence in China with a new model. The company has added a six-seat, long-wheelbase version called the Model Y L to its Model Y family and launched it. Deliveries of the vehicle, which starts at $47,120, begin in September.
New Tesla Model Y L Launches in China
The new Model Y L features a longer body compared to the standard Model Y. Its overall length is 4976 mm, its width is 1920 mm, and its height is 1668 mm. The wheelbase has increased to 3040 mm. This model, which has an 18 cm longer body and a 15 cm longer wheelbase compared to the standard version, also features minor exterior changes.

Thanks to a redesigned roofline and a more dynamic rear spoiler, the aerodynamic drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.216. Inside, when the second and third row seats are folded, cargo volume expands to 2539 liters.
The interior also features significant improvements. A new 16-inch touchscreen is featured in the center console. The front wireless charging unit supports simultaneous 50W and 30W fast charging. The audio system has been enhanced with new speakers added to the center console and ceiling. The updated audio system includes 18 speakers and a subwoofer.
The Model Y L’s second and third-row seats can be independently electrically controlled and fold down. The second-row seats feature power armrests. The front two rows have ventilation, while all seats are heated. All second and third-row seats also feature charging ports.
The Model Y L features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. The front motor produces 142 kW (190 hp) and the rear motor produces 198 kW (266 hp). The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. It is powered by an 82 kWh NMC battery produced by LG Energy Solutions and offers a range of 751 km, according to CLTC data. Energy consumption was announced as 12.8 kWh per 100 km.
