Volkswagen has unveiled the second generation of the T-Roc, one of its best-selling models. The new T-Roc features a bolder design than its predecessor, a completely revamped interior, and a hybrid powertrain that will be rolled out across the brand’s product line.
The New-Generation Volkswagen T-Roc Unveiled
At 4373 mm, the new T-Roc is 120 mm longer than its predecessor. According to design chief Stefan Wallburg, the model has been given a “lifestyle-focused, powerful, and emotional” identity to clearly differentiate it from the Golf. While retaining its coupe-like silhouette, the vehicle features a face consistent with the new Passat and Tiguan, new light signatures at the front and rear, bold color options, and up to 20-inch wheels.

Interior-wise, Volkswagen has focused on enhancing the perception of quality. The interior design, in line with the new Tiguan and Golf, features a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.9-inch multimedia screen, a head-up display, and a new multifunction digital control knob. The brand claims the interior offers better material fit, more intuitive operation, and a more premium feel.
The T-Roc, which goes on sale in November, will be available with 1.5-liter four-cylinder mild hybrid gasoline engines delivering 114 or 148 horsepower. A 2.0-liter all-wheel-drive mild hybrid option will be added in 2025. All versions come with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The most significant innovation is the full hybrid option, arriving in 2026. This system will be available with 134 and 168 horsepower. A small battery located under the rear seats will also allow for short-distance electric driving.
The new T-Roc will be available in four trim levels (Base, Life, Style, and R-Line). Prices have not yet been announced, but the model is expected to be positioned between the Golf and Tiguan, starting around £30,000.
