WhatsApp has started testing a new sticker feature in the Android beta to make status updates more fun and creative. In the 2.25.5.20 beta, users can now add a photo from their gallery as a sticker to their status. So, how exactly is this feature used? Details are in our news…
New Instagram-style status update feature from WhatsApp!
Now, with this feature, users can crop their photos, use the selected area as a sticker and choose from different frame shapes (rectangle, square, circle, heart, star, etc.). Stickers can also be resized and moved freely within the status content.

In fact, this new feature of WhatsApp is quite similar to the ability to add stickers in Instagram Stories. Meta’s goal with this update is to harmonize the content creation experience between WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook.
When will it be released?
Obviously, for now, this feature is only active for a limited number of beta users. WhatsApp has not yet made an official announcement about when it will be available for general use. It may also undergo some changes when it comes to the stable version.
What do you think about this? Do you think WhatsApp adding features similar to Instagram will change the nature of the app? Do users want more visual freedom in status updates? You can write your opinions in the comments section below…
