Apple has been facing criticism recently for delaying some of the features it had previously promised. The company recently announced that the personalized version of Siri has been postponed. Recent developments shed light on why the brand made this decision. Here are the details!
Why did Apple delay personalized Siri?
Apple recently announced that the AI-powered and personalized version of Siri has been delayed until next year. Even the Siri ad featuring Bella Ramsey, known for her role in the September 2024 release of The Last of Us, was pulled from airing.

According to reliable industry sources, the decision is due to security concerns. To elaborate, personalized Siri would have access to information from apps and perform tasks on behalf of the user, which could be manipulated by hackers, leading to potential data breaches.
Apple also withdrew a commercial for the iPhone 16 it released months ago! Why? Following the decision to delay personalized Siri, Apple also pulled an iPhone 16 ad released last year. It seems that Apple is working on a large-scale effort to prevent potential data leaks in the future. As a result, we will have to wait a little longer for the AI-supported and personalized Siri.
In its statement regarding the delay of the advanced version of Siri, the company said:
“Siri helps our users find what they need and get things done quickly, and in just the last six months, we’ve made Siri more conversational, added new features like type and product information, and integrated with ChatGPT.
Additionally, we are working on a more personalized Siri, giving it more awareness of your personal context and enabling it to take action on your behalf within and across your apps. It will take longer than we initially anticipated to deliver these features, and we expect to roll them out next year.”
