Subaru has officially announced pricing for the new and improved 2026 version of its electric crossover SUV, the Solterra EV. Despite significant improvements in nearly every area, including range, power, and charging speed, the automaker has decided to keep the refreshed Solterra’s starting price at the same level as the previous model at $38,495. Here are the details.
The 2026 Subaru Solterra Will Be More Powerful
The new 2026 Solterra will begin arriving in US dealerships this fall, signaling its potential as a contender in the electric car market. The new Solterra comes with significant hardware upgrades that directly impact performance and range.

Thanks to a new 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the 2026 model reaches an estimated range of 288 miles (approximately 463 km). This is a significant increase from the 227 miles offered by the previous model with a 72.8 kWh battery.
Even in the Premium and Limited trim levels, power has been increased to 233 hp. The newly added XT trim levels (Limited XT and Touring XT) produce a total of 388 hp with upgraded front and rear motors.
Subaru has taken a radical step to address one of the biggest complaints among EV owners. All 2026 Solterra models will now come standard with a NACS (North American Charging Standard) charging port. This gives Solterra owners access to more than 15,000 Tesla Supercharger charging stations.
Furthermore, charging time has been improved thanks to a new battery preconditioning system. The battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes, even in particularly cold weather. The 2026 Solterra has been updated not only technically but also in its design and interior.

Subaru’s new EV lighting signature, illuminated six-star logo, redesigned front and rear headlights, and a new rear spoiler give the vehicle a more modern look. All trim levels feature an all-new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The car is equipped with a suite of Subaru EyeSight driver assistance features, including lane-keeping assist, intelligent braking, and throttle control.
Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system has been further enhanced in the new version. This system offers best-in-class ground clearance of 8.3 inches. The advanced X-Mode Dual-Mode System switches between “Snow/Dirt” and “Deep Snow/Mud” modes, providing superior traction in challenging conditions.
The 2026 Solterra will be available in four trim levels: Premium, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT. Pricing is as follows:
- Solterra Premium: $38,495
- Solterra Limited: $41,395
- Solterra Limited XT: $42,895
- Solterra Touring XT: $45,555
