Skyrim and The Sims 4 don’t share much in common until now. One fan took on the ambitious challenge of recreating the iconic city of Riften inside The Sims 4, and the result is not only impressive, but it’s fully playable.
Riften recreated in The Sims 4 is a love letter to Skyrim

User DeadgirlRot, who shared the project on Reddit, spent over a year carefully reconstructing Riften’s medieval charm using nothing but The Sims 4’s in-game tools. As a result, the stone buildings, crooked alleys, and bustling open market all come to life skillfully packed into a 60×60 lot, which happens to be the largest size available in the game.
While The Sims 4 obviously lacks Skyrim’s visual grit, the essence of Riften comes through loud and clear. Players familiar with the Thieves Guild storyline or the grimy canals of the original game will instantly recognize the architectural cues.
Key Skyrim landmarks rebuilt in stunning detail
Even within limited space, the creator managed to bring several fan-favorite spots to life, including:
- The Bee and Barb Inn – Sims can grab a drink here, just like Skyrim’s travelers
- Temple of Mara – Yes, your Sims can even get married here
The build isn’t just decorative, it’s interactive. Sims can visit, explore, and use parts of the location as they would in any other custom lot.
How to visit Riften in The Sims 4
Getting access to this Skyrim-inspired city is simple. Just open The Sims 4 gallery and search for the user Lilithx88. The lot is available for download and works in the standard game no mods required.
From Tamriel to Newcrest, fantasy meets simulation
While The Sims 4 and Skyrim play nothing alike, this project proves that fans don’t always need matching genres to pay tribute. With some creativity and a whole lot of patience, DeadgirlRot delivered one of the most faithful crossovers the Sims community has seen.
