Renowned British director Guy Ritchie, who previously directed the box office hit Sherlock Holmes films starring Robert Downey Jr., is now returning to the detective’s world with a series project.
Young Sherlock is coming soon
Ritchie focuses on the famous character’s youth with the new Amazon Prime Video series, Young Sherlock. Amazon has released the first teaser images from the highly anticipated series and announced a release date of 2026.
Ritchie, who has recently made headlines with series like The Gentlemen and MobLand, goes back to the very beginning of the brilliant detective’s adventures in this new project. The series is adapted from Andy Lane’s beloved Young Sherlock Holmes book series. The story takes place in the 1870s and focuses on the first murder case young Sherlock Holmes encounters.
The series stars young actor Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who portrays the young detective. Tiffin previously worked with Guy Ritchie on the film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The young actor is accompanied by a rich cast.
The cast includes well-known names such as Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and veteran actor Colin Firth. Young Sherlock has already become a highly anticipated production, thanks to both Guy Ritchie’s signature style and its intriguing plot.
