Willis Gibson beat Tetris in 38 minutes!
There are various games that we played very often in our childhood and we could never finish them. Most of these games are also played by adults today. One of these games is the iconic Tetris.
First released in 1984, the game has taken the world by storm ever since. However, as of the other day, it was defeated for the first time. Willis Gibson, 13 years old, beat the 1988 version of Nintendo’s iconic game Tetris in 38 minutes.
After 34 years, Gibson managed to beat the game, only to see it freeze when he reached the end. This was the first time since Tetris came out that someone had completed the game. The game has so far only been beaten by artificial intelligence.
Normally, the original NES Tetris was almost impossible to complete. In fact, many people didn’t even think it was possible. The way to beat the game was to reach the final screen called the “killscreen”. And it wasn’t until 2011 that players could go no higher than level 29.
Also, the original Tetris game consists of 255 levels. After completing the 255th level, players go back to the beginning. Gibson, who has been playing Tetris since he was 11, says he practices three to five hours a day. Gibson, who has participated in tournaments many times, managed to come third in a tournament in October.
