Gemini vs GPT-4o: Google’s referential post
Google will hold its I/O 2024 developer conference today in the evening. At the conference, Gemini innovations, especially Android 15, will be discussed. However, the surprise introduction of the GPT-4o model seems to have disrupted Google’s plans.
The company posted a video on social media showcasing Gemini’s capabilities. In the video, Gemini engages in a conversation with a human, answers questions about what it sees on camera and can even ask its own questions. All this is positioned as a rival to the GPT-4o model.
The conversational capability demonstrated by Gemini is far ahead of other assistants such as Google Assistant and Siri. The AI can analyze videos in real time and can also identify objects and letters.
This post about Gemini caused controversy on social media. It is thought that Google is referring to GPT-4o and OpenAI. Google claims to have more advanced speech skills compared to its competitors.
“Real-Time Responses” and a “pause” button have appeared in Gemini’s Android app. It is possible that these features and more will be introduced at I/O 2024.
