Developed by engineers who left technology giants such as BYD and Huawei, Kamingo was introduced as a kit that can convert an ordinary bicycle into an electric bicycle in just three minutes. In the face of increasing demand for electric transportation solutions, this kit offers a new alternative for users who want to have an electric experience without giving up their current bicycle.
This kit will turn your bicycle into an electric bicycle in 3 minutes
The Kamingo conversion kit consists of a motor, battery and control unit. The 900-gram motor is mounted on the rear wheel of the bicycle. This motor, which has a nominal power of 250 watts, can reach a maximum output power of 750 watts and produces 40 Nm of torque.

While the speed limit is limited to 25 km/h in the European version, this value goes up to 32 km/h in the US version. The motor, which automatically adjusts the contact force with the tire, adapts to different road conditions.
The system offers three different driving modes. Standby mode where the motor is disabled, pedal assist mode with a cadence sensor that detects pedaling power and a fully electric driving mode. The kit is compatible with many bike models, but the tire type, brake system and frame structure must meet certain technical requirements for proper operation.
The battery unit has a capacity of 266 Wh and weighs 1.4 kilograms. This battery, placed in the bike’s water bottle cage, offers a range of 90 kilometers with minimum pedal support when fully charged. The charging time is stated as 3 hours. In addition, the battery can be used as a power bank thanks to the USB output.
The control unit is mounted on the handlebar and shows information such as speed and battery status on the screen. With mobile application support, charging status and driving data can be monitored and the engine can be locked remotely. The total weight of the system, which works with Bluetooth connection, is only 2.3 kilograms. Once the engine bracket is mounted, the entire system is ready to work in 10 seconds.
The electronic components meet the IP66 water and dust resistance standard. Suitable for use in rainy weather, Kamingo also has regenerative braking support that provides energy recovery during braking and an automatic shutdown feature that stops the system in accidents. The engine, which only makes 56 decibels of noise during operation, is notable for its silence.
The Kamingo conversion kit is currently on sale on Kickstarter for an early access price of $349. So what do you think about this device? You can share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
