Samsung manages to delight its users with its update packages. However, it was stated that the OneUI 6.1.1 package, which offers many new features, caused sound problems in some users. Accordingly, users who installed the update noticed a decrease in sound quality.
Samsung reduced sound quality with One UI 6.1.1
Samsung Galaxy S23 users started to report a decrease in sound quality after the recent One UI 6.1.1 update. Similar complaints are also coming from Galaxy Tab S9 series users.
The problem first appeared on Samsung community forums when users reported the sound quality change on their devices. Although Samsung seemed to ignore the reports at first, it had to examine the problem in more detail after the complaints increased.
In a statement, Samsung acknowledged that the problem was linked to an update to the Dolby Atmos Library, which was upgraded from version 3.10 to version 3.12 with the One UI 6.1.1 update. The company admitted that the update was intended to improve 360 audio capabilities, but unintentionally altered the quality in some audio modes.
Samsung stated that it had forwarded the issue to Dolby and that the audio company plans to release an updated library to address these issues. The tech giant also said it plans to fix this issue in the next update. Of course, he did not give a clear date for when the fix will be released.
If the update notification did not automatically drop to your device, you can manually upgrade your phone/tablet to the new version by following Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. If you still cannot find the update despite following these steps, it is possible to say that the package has not yet been released.
