TikTok has undergone a number of organizational changes in recent months, and the process is now continuing with the departure of global marketing director Kate Jhaveri. According to internal company memos, Jhaveri will be leaving TikTok this month and her position will be eliminated entirely. All employees in TikTok’s global brand and communications department will now report to Zenia Mucha, former chief communications officer at Disney.
Big Change at TikTok: Marketing Director Kate Jhaveri Is Leaving
Regarding this change, Mucha stated that he and Jhaveri had long talked about how they could better structure their marketing strategy and decided that creating a more holistic organizational structure would better meet the company’s business needs. So, this change is not just a separation, but also a significant restructuring of TikTok’s global marketing strategy.
Jhaveri was an experienced name who served as marketing director on major platforms such as the NBA and Twitch before TikTok. However, he has not made an official statement about his departure so far. Following this development, Zuber Mohammed will take responsibility for the company’s consumer marketing, product marketing and user communication teams and will report to Zenia Mucha.
TikTok has been on the agenda not only with this separation, but also with several significant management changes in recent months. The company restructured its operations and marketing teams in May, and made significant changes to some positions. Even the company’s vice president of global communications, Hilary McQuaide, left her position.
