According to the statement released by Turk Telekom, the company was the biggest investor in the sector last year. It made a total investment of $25.8 billion, attracting attention with this figure. The company’s consolidated revenues for 2023 increased by 9.6% to reach 100.2 billion TL. The net profit was announced as 16.4 billion TL.
Turk Telekom’s total subscriber count exceeds 52.9 million!
Turk Telekom, which has been the most preferred operator for mobile number portability for nine consecutive quarters, reached 26.2 million mobile subscribers. The total subscriber count has reached 52.9 million. Turk Telekom, which is intensively working on fiber internet, reached a fiber infrastructure length of 437 thousand kilometers by the end of 2023. The number of households benefiting from fiber internet has reached 32.2 million. This number was 31.4 million at the end of 2022.
Leading the way in important projects by transitioning to 5G with domestic elements, Turk Telekom has been the market leader in the Cyber Security Services category for three consecutive years according to the market research company International Data Corporation (IDC) data. It should be noted that the company increased the domesticity rate in cybersecurity products from 26% in 2018 to approximately 65% in 2023.
Turk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal, evaluating the 2023 financial and operational results, stated: “The course we observed in the important performance indicators we closely monitor in the first months of the year supports this view, and we expect a gradually improving macroeconomic environment in the coming quarters that will support our business lines. In this context, we believe that we will achieve our ambitious targets for the next year. Consolidated revenues, which were 91.4 billion TL in the previous year, increased by 9.6% to 100.2 billion TL.”
Fixed internet and mobile total operating revenues accounted for 70.4%. Mobile generated the highest contribution to growth by generating 6.4 billion TL higher revenue compared to the previous year. The 13.2% increase in corporate data revenue was largely due to growth in managed services, including cybersecurity and data center services.
The strong growth of 29% in other revenues was supported by IT solutions, call center, and device sales revenues. While net profit was 16.4 billion TL in 2023, total investment expenditures increased to 25.8 billion TL. However, the ratio of investment expenditures to revenue decreased by 50 basis points compared to the previous year, reaching 25.7%.
According to the “September 2023 FTTH/B Europe Market Panorama” report covering 39 countries by the FTTH Council, Turkey rose to the 2nd place in FTTH/B household coverage numbers, taking a step up. During the twelve-month period until September 2023, with the contribution of 1.5 million provided by Turk Telekom, Turkey achieved an increase of 2.3 million in FTTH/B household coverage.
Additionally, Turkey became the 3rd fastest growing market with a 1 million increase in FTTH/B subscribers during the same period, of which 0.8 million was provided by Turk Telekom alone. We continue our determination to connect every corner of the country with fiber as our fiber network, covering all 81 provinces of Turkey, reached 437 thousand km by the end of the year. As of 3Q’23, FTTC household coverage reached 20.5 million, while FTTH/B household coverage reached 11.8 million. Our total fiber subscriber count reached 12.9 million, constituting 84.7% of our total subscriber count, with a 7 point increase compared to the previous year.

Mobile demonstrated a very strong performance in 2023. While the total subscriber count increased by 2.8% during the year, the postpaid subscriber count increased by 9.5%. The average data usage of LTE subscribers grew by 23.4% annually. The upsell count, excluding those made during commitment renewals, was 46% higher throughout 2023 compared to the previous year. The effects of the strong customer demand for our mobile services and our strategy, which we expect to maintain its effectiveness in the upcoming periods, were evident
