A protocol has been signed between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus regarding the development of the TRNC’s fiber optic infrastructure and the delivery of fiber optic services to homes and businesses. Under this protocol, Türk Telekom will oversee the TRNC’s fiber integration process.

A signing ceremony for the fiber conversion of the TRNC’s digital backbone was held with the participation of TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Türk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal. Türk Telekom, Turkey’s digital transformation leader, connects the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the world via submarine fiber lines and will provide high-speed fiber internet access to users in the TRNC.

This project, signed between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and which we will implement, is a fiberization campaign that will support the digitalization of the TRNC in many areas, from education and the economy to healthcare and public services, in addition to infrastructure investments.
