Turkey is entering a brand new era by increasing its investments in industry and technology. According to the statement made by Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology, a $2 billion investment package is being prepared for high technology across the country. The scope of investments will range from space technologies to hybrid rocket engines, from electric vehicle production to biotechnology.
Turkey’s industry is growing day by day
With the support programmes announced by the Ministry, industrialists who have not completed their investments in Organised Industrial Zones (OIZ) will be granted an additional period of up to 36 months. In this context, 5,108 applications have been made so far in 187 OIZs. The deadline for industrialists wishing to take advantage of this opportunity was set as 31 January 2025.

In addition, significant support will be provided to enterprises operating in labour-intensive sectors within the scope of KOSGEB Employment Protection Support Programme. The programme, especially for workers in the textile, clothing, leather and furniture manufacturing sectors, will provide a monthly support of 2,500 TL per employee and this support will last for 12 months.
Minister of Industry and Technology Kacır announced that Turkey aims to reach the Moon with its own rocket engine. Stating that Turkey is one of the four most advanced countries in the world in hybrid rocket engine technology, Kacır said that the design, production and launch stages of the spacecraft to be sent to the Moon will be realised entirely with domestic facilities.

Kacır emphasised that following the successful launch of the TURKSAT 6A satellite, Turkey has become more assertive in developing and managing its own vehicles in space, and announced that the next generation space programmes will gain momentum.
Lastly, Minister Kacır stated that Turkey has taken important steps to attract major automotive brands to the country. Stating that negotiations with major brands such as Chinese manufacturers BYD and Chery are ongoing, the Minister emphasised that Turkey will be an important production base for the production of electric vehicles.
