The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) has released data for the first eight months of 2025. Accordingly, Turkey’s total automotive production increased by 4 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 908,238 units. Including tractor production, total production reached 928,081 units.

However, automobile production decreased by 1 percent during the same period, reaching 564,482 units. Production in the commercial vehicle group increased by 13 percent, driven by light commercial vehicles, while heavy commercial vehicle production decreased by 6 percent. The increase in light commercial vehicle production was 15 percent.

The automotive industry’s capacity utilization rate remained at 64 percent in the first eight months of the year. This rate was 65 percent for light vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles), 54 percent for trucks, 64 percent for buses and minibuses, and 40 percent for tractors.
During the same period, automotive exports increased by 7 percent to 682,743 units. Automobile exports, on the other hand, decreased by 6 percent. Commercial vehicle exports increased by 29 percent, while tractor exports decreased by 30 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 7,218 units.
According to data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OİB), total automotive exports reached $26.1 billion in the first eight months. Automobile exports, on the other hand, increased by 11 percent in dollar terms, reaching $7.5 billion. Main industry exports increased by 16 percent, and supplier industry exports by 7 percent.
