Recently, many automobile brands that want to expand into the European market have been making serious investments in Turkey. In particular, China’s leading names such as BYD and Chery have recently come to the forefront with news about their new factories in Turkey. According to the latest information, SWM Motor, which has an Italian-Chinese partnership, has completed its official applications to establish its factory in Turkey. Here are the details…
SWM Motor has completed the official applications to establish a factory in Turkey!
According to the statement made by SWM Motor Turkey representative ATMO Group, a new factory will be established for SWM Motor in Turkey. Thanks to this factory, the brand will offer much more affordable electric and internal combustion engine vehicles to the Turkish market. In addition, thanks to the production in Turkey, it will be able to open to the European market more easily and will be able to go on sale without being caught in procedures such as additional Chinese taxes.
ATMO Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anton Chernov, who also owns the franchise rights of the Chery brand in Turkey, which has achieved great success in Turkey, said: “We are interested in investing and developing more projects in Turkey. We have doubled the number of our employees in Turkey compared to last year. Our revenue is growing every year and we want to make long-term plans with Turkey.”
The rest of his statement is as follows; “Our negotiations with the Ministry of Trade and the Presidential Investment Office continue. We are actively in contact with strong local partners for our new projects. However, the final decision on the investment project will depend on the support measures provided by the government.”
To summarize, ATMO Group wants to make more commercial investments in addition to the factory investment. Currently, all necessary official applications have been made. The process will proceed according to the decision to be made by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey and the Presidential Investment Office.
Finally, let us share with you the statement made by Burak Azmanoğlu, Commercial Director of SWM Turkey. In the statement made by Azmanoğlu, “We want to offer affordable SUV cars to consumers. We have set our annual production targets. Currently, our customers who buy SWM brand cars from us are also experiencing great satisfaction.”
For Turkey, the Chinese tariffs imposed by Europe are actually a great opportunity. Because Turkey has a very strong automotive sub-industry, especially in regions such as Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya and Bursa. It also has a tremendous location for manufacturers who want to expand into the European market.
When you bring all these features together, manufacturers want to establish factories in Turkey, and thanks to these factories, Turkey’s economy is developing. So what do you think about the SWM Motor Turkey factory, which is expected to be established?
