Electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Turkey has gained significant momentum, according to October data. Recent reports released by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) clearly demonstrate the rapid development and increasing demand in the sector.
Consumption Increase at Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
According to data released by the EPDK, the number of charging stations in Turkey has reached 36,280. A total of 2,328,190 charging stations were operated on this expanding network in October. Total charging time exceeded 2 million hours, while electricity consumption reached 47,429 megawatt-hours. These figures demonstrate the rapid integration of electric mobility into daily life.

The most striking indicator of sustainability is the source of electricity consumed. Approximately 61 percent of total consumption was provided by YEK-G certified green charging stations. Regionally, Istanbul leads the way. Istanbul consumed 14,438 megawatt-hours of electricity, accounting for 30 percent of total consumption. Istanbul was followed by Ankara, Izmir, and Bursa, respectively.
Competition in the market is also intensifying. Based on consumption, Trugo ranked first with 11,292 megawatt-hours. In terms of the number of sockets, Zes leads with 5,008 sockets. This infrastructure expansion has directly impacted vehicle numbers. The number of electric vehicles, which stood at 155,000 last year, has risen to 334,768 this year.
