Volkswagen and Audi within the Volkswagen Group invited 261 thousand vehicles to service due to fuel leaks. German manufacturers reported that the seals inside the intake jet pump in the fuel tank were problematic due to a manufacturing problem, and that the escaping fuel could flow into the emission system and accumulate there. Stating that the accumulated fuel poses a risk of fire, Volkswagen Group said that the relevant vehicles will be repaired free of charge at the service. It was also announced that the vehicles will be used without any problems for years with the new pump developed as Version 2.0.

Due to this problem, Volkswagen Group invited the 2015-2020 Audi A3 Sedan, 2015-2019 Audi A3 Convertible, 2019-2020 Volkswagen Jetta GLI, 2015-2020 Volkswagen Golf, 2015-2020 Volkswagen Golf GTI, 2015-2019 Sportwagen models for service.
