Volkswagen has launched a lifetime warranty for three models in the SUV segment in the Chinese market. Those who purchase one of the Volkswagen Tharu, Tiguan L Pro and Teramont Pro models will have a warranty covering basic systems such as engine, transmission, suspension and steering, without any mileage or duration limit. This move was met with great positive response by users.
Volkswagen to sell cars with a lifetime warranty
The application will only be valid for users who meet certain conditions. The lifetime warranty only covers the first owner of the vehicle and all maintenance operations must be carried out only at authorized Volkswagen services. The warranty will cover customers who purchase one of these models until April 30, 2025.

The intense competition in the Chinese automotive market was effective in the background of the decision. Volkswagen, which is trying to maintain its position against domestic manufacturers that have been aggressively growing in electric and hybrid vehicle production, aims to increase customer demand in the SUV class with this move.
The warranty package offered by the company; Unlike the lifetime coverage approach seen in newly released vehicles, it also includes existing models currently on sale. This move will be part of efforts to increase user loyalty in the Chinese market. It is not yet clear whether other models will be added to the campaign.
