Apple has released the watchOS 26.1 and tvOS 26.1 updates publicly. With these releases, the tech giant has introduced new software for all its major platforms, including iOS 26.1, macOS Tahoe 26.1, and visionOS 26.1. These updates focus on fixing bugs in the major releases released in September.
What does watchOS 26.1 and tvOS 26.1 offer?
Apple typically includes more concrete changes in its iPhone and Mac updates. Indeed, the watchOS 26.1 release notes don’t generate much excitement beyond “improvements and bug fixes.” Similarly, the HomePod 26.1 software promises “performance and stability improvements.”

However, there is a noticeable change on the Apple TV side. With tvOS 26.1, the TV app icon has been revamped. This change marks a step toward rebranding “Apple TV+” as “Apple TV.”
The new TV app icon has a more colorful and vibrant look than before. The app also removes the old “TV+” branding from several places within the app. Otherwise, the overall look and feel of the app remains largely intact.
