The biggest innovation is Workout Buddy, which runs on Apple Intelligence infrastructure. This feature analyzes the user’s workout history to provide personalized motivational messages and statistical feedback. For example, during a run, information such as speed data, weekly total distance, and heart rate is communicated verbally. The system uses a dynamic artificial voice created using the voice data of Fitness+ trainers.

The Workout app has also been made more functional with a new interface. Corner buttons offer music recommendations based on workout type and easy access options. Smart Stack has been updated with more accurate recommendations based on location and habits.
The Messages app has been enhanced with real-time translation, action suggestions based on chat context, and new backgrounds. A new wrist gesture now allows users to manage notifications with one hand. Additionally, the Notes app is making its debut on Apple Watch.
Accessibility-focused innovations such as Live Listen subtitle support for hearing-impaired users, Call Screening, and Hold Assist are also available. watchOS 26 makes the Apple Watch experience smarter, more personal, and more accessible.
