Apple continues to make significant progress with the iPhone 17 series, which is set to be introduced in 2025. Reports so far suggest that the brand is unsatisfied with the sales performance of the Plus model and is planning to replace it with the Air model, which will stand out for its slim profile. Recent developments have unveiled new details about the iPhone 17 Air.
iPhone 17 Air: 2mm Thinner Than the iPhone 16 Pro
While it’s been known for some time that the iPhone 17 Air will focus on thinness, specific details about just how slim the device will be have been scarce. However, this has largely changed thanks to reliable insider information from Mark Gurman.
According to Gurman, the iPhone 17 Air will be approximately 2mm thinner than the 8.25mm-thick iPhone 16 Pro, bringing it to a remarkable 6.25mm. This would make it the slimmest iPhone ever, dethroning the iPhone 6, which has a thickness of 6.9mm.
As for its design, there seems to be little mystery. According to details shared by the YouTube channel AppleTrack, the iPhone 17 Air will feature a dual-camera setup. However, the arrangement of the camera island will differ significantly from other models. A horizontally and centrally aligned layout is expected, reminiscent of the rear panel design of the Nothing Phone 2.
