The world’s most popular messaging app is testing a long-awaited innovation for WhatsApp storage management. The new system will allow users to individually view how much space each chat is taking up on their phone.
How will the new WhatsApp storage management work?
WhatsApp, which currently displays storage data in aggregate form, will provide significant convenience with this new feature. This feature, spotted by WABetaInfo in beta versions, will work directly from the “contact information” page. From this section, users will be able to clearly see how much storage each chat is using.

The biggest advantage of this innovation will be the ability to quickly identify large media files shared in a particular chat. This will make it much easier to decide which chats need to be cleared to free up phone storage. However, there is no official date yet for when the feature will be available to all users.
While the storage feature is awaited, WhatsApp recently launched a message translation feature for its iPhone app, following Android. Unlike Android, the iOS version also includes direct Turkish language support. This infrastructure can be accessed by tapping and holding an incoming message, selecting “More…”, and then “Translate.”
WhatsApp states that this feature is designed to protect privacy. Translations occur directly on the user’s device, without being sent to servers. The feature applies to one-on-one chats, group conversations, and updates in channels. Android users also have the option to automatically translate the entire conversation.
