Voice and video call support is coming to the web version of WhatsApp. This feature, which has been actively used in mobile applications for a long time, will be accessible directly through web browsers for the first time.
WhatsApp will offer call feature for web version
Currently, users who wanted to make audio or video calls could only use this function via mobile devices or desktop applications. However, thanks to the new feature, calls can be made directly through the browser without any installation on the computer.

Last month, a new drop-down menu was added to individual and group chats for beta users, making it easier to initiate calls. This change enabled faster initiation of both voice and video calls. Now, it has been revealed that this innovation has been carried over to the web version.
In the screenshots published by WABetaInfo, it is seen that there is a small phone and camera icon at the top of the chat windows in the WhatsApp Web interface. By clicking on these icons, users will be able to start a voice or video call directly from the browser.
The first information about how the new system will work has also emerged. It is stated that in web calls, the browser will request permission from the user for camera and microphone access, and if permission is granted, the conversation will be initiated.
Calls will continue to be protected by end-to-end encryption, so WhatsApp’s security standards will be maintained on the web platform. However, this feature is currently being tested with a limited group of users.
