WhatsApp has released its eagerly awaited message translation feature. This feature, called “Message Translations,” is available for both individual and group chats, as well as Channel updates. Users can translate a message into their preferred language by long-pressing and selecting “Translate” on an incoming message.
WhatsApp Launches Message Translation
This new feature comes with different support for iPhone and Android users. Initially, Android users will support English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic, while iPhone users will receive support for more than 19 languages, including Turkish, from day one. Android also supports a setting that automatically translates every incoming message.

WhatsApp claims that the translation process takes place directly on the device, emphasizing that message privacy is protected. The necessary language pack for translation is automatically installed on the device. It is not yet clear when the feature will be available on WhatsApp’s web or Windows apps.
This feature is expected to eliminate language barriers globally and significantly improve the user experience. It is particularly convenient when communicating in multilingual groups or with people from different countries.
This move by Meta is seen as part of its strategy to increase cross-platform integration and user engagement. Users expect translation quality to improve over time. What are your thoughts on this? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
