WhatsApp’s iPad app is finally getting ready to be released to the public after a long testing period. Meta’s messaging service will be a standalone app for iPad users.
WhatsApp will officially come to the iPad platform
It is known that the app has been tested on Apple’s TestFlight platform for about two years. Finally, a post from WhatsApp’s official X account indicated that the final version could be released very soon.

The WhatsApp team responded to a user’s request for an iPad app on social media with the “eyes” emoji. Although this was not a direct statement, it was interpreted as a message confirming that the app’s release was imminent.
Users who participated in the beta program report that the app is largely stable. This shows that Meta has been meticulously testing the iPad version, which it has been working on for a long time, before releasing it to widespread distribution.
This special version developed for the iPad can be used without being connected to the iPhone. In other words, users will not need their phones to be connected to the internet to access WhatsApp chats on their iPad devices.
This feature is considered to be a “companion mode” experience brought to the iPad from the desktop and web versions. Messaging and calls on connected devices will continue to be protected with end-to-end encryption.
The app’s interface has also been redesigned to take into account the larger screen of the iPad. This will provide users with a more intuitive and visually richer experience compared to the iPhone version.
