Where Winds Meet, a new open-world MMORPG from Everstone Studio, is officially set to launch on November 14 for both PC and PlayStation 5. The timing is bold it drops the same day as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 but this free-to-play Wuxia epic seems to be carving out hype of its own.
Where Winds Meet mixes Wuxia combat with open-world exploration

Set during 10th-century China, the game plunges players into the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era. You’ll explore sprawling ancient cities, vibrant towns, and rural wilderness crafted in a painterly style that feels like a moving ink scroll.
Players can master traditional and unconventional weapons, including swords, spears, rope darts, umbrellas, and fans. According to Everstone’s publishing lead Eric Zheng, the combat is built around 12 Martial Arts styles and 23 mystical techniques, with animations choreographed by Stephen Tung Wai, the legendary Hong Kong action director.
Steam wishlists and pre-registration milestones signal high demand
Despite being announced just last year, Where Winds Meet has racked up serious traction. On Steam, it currently sits at #43 on the global wishlist charts with over 500,000 wishlists. Pre-registration hit the 10 million player milestone, unlocking exclusive rewards for all players, including:
- In-game currency and consumables
- A special title
- The Swaying Lotus Skin, the ultimate cosmetic bonus
Where Winds Meet features multiplayer, but requires a connection for all modes
Whether you’re solo or online, the game needs a persistent internet connection. Even the single-player experience isn’t playable offline. That’s worth noting for those planning to dive in without constant connectivity.
The game supports cross-platform multiplayer between PC and PS5, and PSN users will have access to pre-order rewards, such as:
- Cosmetic Outfit Pack x1 (Choose from 3 sets)
- Astral Trail Name Card Background x1
Launches November 14 just like Black Ops 7
Where Winds Meet will be available on Steam, Epic Games, PSN, and Everstone’s own Windows client. The preload begins November 12 at 22:00 UTC, and a global livestream is planned to mark the launch.
Going up against Black Ops 7 might seem risky but for fans of martial arts, sweeping landscapes, and Chinese mythology, Where Winds Meet could offer a completely different reason to log in on launch day.
