Microsoft has officially announced a decision that will mark the end of a significant era in the technology world. The end is in sight for the legendary operating system, still actively used on millions of computers. The company announced that Windows 10 support is ending. The deadline set for this operating system, which has been with us since 2015, is forcing users to make important decisions.
Windows 10 support is ending: So what happens now?
According to Microsoft’s official statement, official support for Windows 10 will end completely on October 14, 2025. After this date, the operating system will no longer receive any security updates, bug fixes, or new features. Most importantly, this will make Windows 10 users much more vulnerable to cyberattacks.

It will be possible to continue using Windows 10 after support is discontinued. However, this poses serious security risks. No patches will be released for newly discovered vulnerabilities. This could make personal data and financial information vulnerable to malicious software. Furthermore, over time, newly released programs and hardware may become incompatible with Windows 10.
Microsoft recommends all users upgrade to Windows 11 for free for a more secure and modern experience. If your computer’s hardware isn’t sufficient for Windows 11, purchasing a new computer is the safest option. For business users, a supplemental security update (ESU) program will be available for a fee. However, this will be a temporary solution.
