Apple shared new software and artificial intelligence updates at its WWDC 2024 event today. iOS 18, watchOS 11, macOS Sequoia and Apple Intelligence platform were introduced. Here is the WWDC 2024 summary.
What was introduced at Apple WWDC 2024?
Apple paid attention to customization and artificial intelligence features at this year’s event. In this context, Apple stated that the Apple Intelligence platform will be used in all operating systems. It also launched a new era with ChatGPT-4o supported Siri.
iOS/iPadOS 18
Apple is focusing on personalization with iOS 18. Accordingly, the home screen is getting a major innovation after many years. Users will be able to place app icons and widgets on the part of the screen they want. This will create a user-specific experience.
Apple also drew attention to the issue of privacy. Accordingly, iOS 18 allows you to lock apps. Thus, other people will need to authenticate to open the apps. You will also be able to hide information in search, Siri and other apps.
On the other hand, RCS messaging support will be offered with Android. This technology developed by Google represents the next step of SMS.
macOS Sequoia
iPhone Mirroring lets you view and control your iPhone from your Mac. By mirroring iPhone to Mac, it can show everything including icons, Home Screen, apps and more. Now, any app can be opened directly from the Mac, and even the sound of your “iPhone” is streamed to the Mac.
macOS Sequoia also announced a new dedicated Passwords app that lets you manage Wi-Fi passwords, app and website passwords, verification codes and more. Passwords can be synchronized across devices. macOS uses autofill to fill passwords in the Passwords app.
macOS Sequoia will now support dozens of games, significantly improving gaming performance, especially on devices with M1 and M2 chips. watchOS 11
With watchOS 11, Apple Watch’s health tracking features will be strengthened. According to Apple, blood pressure data management will be much more detailed. The new Apple Watches will also support hypertension detection.

visionOS 2
