The social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has officially rolled out the Custom Timelines feature powered by Grok AI for its Premium subscribers. This innovation, activated for paid users on the iOS platform as of April 2026, allows users to pin specific topics they are interested in to their homepages.
Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence venture xAI, analyzes the platform’s algorithm to create personalized content feeds based on more than 75 different categories. This move draws attention as an important part of X’s strategy to make the user experience more thematic and focused.

X has signed a major update to increase user interaction and make content consumption more organized. This new system, powered by Grok AI, gathers the massive data flow on the platform under specific themes. This feature, offered especially for the use of Premium subscribers, takes the social media experience beyond the traditional chronological or algorithmic feed. Thanks to artificial intelligence support, users can get rid of the noise on the platform and follow only the posts in niche areas they want to focus on.
Grok Artificial Intelligence Makes the Content Algorithm More Efficient
The Grok artificial intelligence, located at the core of the system, works by analyzing the user’s past interactions and the platform’s general algorithm. In this way, while creating Custom Timelines, not only popular posts but also specific contents that could truly attract the user’s interest are brought to the forefront. X officials emphasize that Grok’s filtering capabilities yield much more accurate results in topics the user already interacts with.

Users Can Pin Their Own Interests to Their Homepages
Premium users can activate this feature with the Add button located right next to the Following tab in the application. Among the more than 75 topic headings currently offered, there is a wide range from architecture to technology, from finance to sports. This system allows users to follow their own areas of expertise in a parallel universe without disrupting their main feeds. With this step, X aims to make the time users spend on the platform of higher quality. Thanks to the new feature, users can move away from the general agenda and switch to the specific communities they have chosen with a single touch.
The Wait for Android Users is Ending Very Soon
Along with this update, the X platform also offered additional tools that will make it easier for users to avoid contents they do not want. Topics such as politics or sports that are located in the For You tab and can disturb users can now be muted for certain periods. Although the current features are only being tested on iOS devices at the moment, the company has reported through its official channels that Android users will also join this experience very soon.
