Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence initiative xAI has added a memory feature to its chat bot Grok. With this update, Grok can remember previous conversations with users and use this information in subsequent interactions.
xAI introduces new memory feature for Grok
Thanks to the new memory system, Grok has a structure that can provide personalised responses. When users interact with the chatbot sufficiently, they can receive personalised responses based on previously stated preferences or interests. This move is expected to increase the number of users of the Grok platform.
For example, when a user makes a request to ‘use emoji’, Grok memorises this request and responds accordingly in subsequent conversations. xAI explained that the memory system is completely transparent.
What Grok knows about the user can be viewed through the system. This information can be deleted at any time by tapping the icon next to each memory record. The feature is available in beta via Grok’s website grok.com and iOS and Android mobile applications.
Users in the European Union and the United Kingdom cannot benefit from this feature for now due to regional regulations. A similar memory system was previously offered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini platform.
With this new memory system integrated by xAI into Grok, we can say that the competition in the artificial intelligence sector has become even more heated. So what do you think about this issue? You can easily share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
