The Stalker series, which made a significant impact in the gaming world with its first game Shadow of Chernobyl, is soon set to return with its second main installment. However, in a recent statement, Stalker 2 developer Slava Lukyanenka delivered bad news to Xbox users.
Stalker 2 runs at 35 FPS on Xbox Series S!
As we approach the release of Stalker 2—now about two months away—the final stretch has brought disappointing news for Xbox Series S owners. In a statement from GSC Game World, producer Slava Lukyanenka admitted that the game currently runs at only 35 FPS on the Xbox Series S.
In an interview with WCCFtech featuring the game’s PR team, Zakhar Bocharov, and lead producer Slava Lukyanenka, it was revealed that the current version of Stalker 2 offers a refresh rate of around 35 FPS on Xbox Series consoles, operating between Performance Mode and Quality Mode.
The developers noted that they still have time to improve the game’s performance and are working to increase the FPS before its release on December 20, 2024, when it will be available to Game Pass users. They also emphasized that they are working closely with Microsoft on the issue and that there are no problems with the Xbox Series X version.
Originally planned for release in 2012, Stalker 2 faced numerous delays due to development issues and tragic events in Ukraine, resulting in a 12-year postponement. The game will soon be available, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
