Xiaomi has already confirmed the upcoming launch of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra later this month. This top-of-the-line flagship will join the Xiaomi 13 series, which includes the standard, pro, and lite models. Although the brand has yet to announce the launch date for the ultra variant, a Chinese online retailer’s app has unveiled a new event in the home country.
Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica continues
The section on the online retailer’s app in China (translated) reads ‘Xiaomi New Product Launch’ and is scheduled for April 18th at 19:00 pm local time. While it does not explicitly mention the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the event aligns with a report from last month. That report revealed an alleged poster hinting at an April 17th launch date. It’s likely that Xiaomi will officially announce the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s launch date in the coming days.
Like the rest of the Xiaomi 13 series, the brand will continue its partnership with Leica for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. This collaboration means that the upcoming flagship will feature the legendary camera maker’s technology for enhanced photography capabilities. Additionally, the smartphone is confirmed to debut in global markets.
A recent leak suggests that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra may come equipped with a USB 3.x connectivity port. If true, this would make it the first Xiaomi smartphone to move away from the outdated USB 2.0 standard. This change would appear in its upcoming flagship model. The device is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and paired with LPDDR5x RAM. Additionally, it will have UFS 4.1 storage and is expected to support 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
