A new leak about Xiaomi’s upcoming Xiaomi 16 Pro, expected to be unveiled in China later this month, has revealed the device’s main camera specifications. Rumors suggest this new model will use an advanced sensor manufactured by SmartSens. Here are the Xiaomi 16 Pro camera specifications.
Xiaomi 16 Pro to Come with SmartSens SC590X Sensor
According to leaker Fixed Focus Digital, the Xiaomi 16 Pro will feature a 50-megapixel SmartSens SC590X sensor. This sensor is said to be a large 1/1.28-inch sensor with a 1.2μm pixel size.

The SC590XS supports QPD full-pixel autofocus technology, where every pixel contributes to precise phase-detection focusing. It is also said to support native 4K video recording at up to 120 fps and offer a wide dynamic range that preserves detail even in challenging lighting conditions.
Leaks suggest this sensor could also feature a physical variable aperture, allowing it to capture significantly more light than traditional setups. Furthermore, Huawei is alleged to adopt an RYYB pixel arrangement, potentially increasing light-capturing capacity by 30% to 40%.
The SC590XS is also said to be able to quickly and reliably focus on moving objects when combined with AI-powered motion-tracking algorithms. The Xiaomi 16 Pro is expected to be unveiled alongside the Xiaomi 16 and a new model, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max or Mini.
