Xiaomi will launch its new flagship phones, the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro, in the last week of September 2025. The new series will bring the brand’s most significant camera changes in recent years, with photography being the primary focus this time around.
Xiaomi 16 series arrives with significant camera updates
Both models will abandon the 32MP f/2.0 front camera, which has been used since the Xiaomi 13 series. This will be replaced by a new 50MP sensor with autofocus, offering a wider field of view. The new front camera will also continue to support 4K 60fps video recording.

The phones also feature significant improvements on the rear. Both the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro will feature a 50MP main sensor with a 1/1.3-inch resolution. The Pro model will also feature a sensor with increased dynamic range and a ToF sensor to improve depth perception in portrait shots. Additionally, improvements have been made to Leica’s image processing technology.
The entire series will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. It’s rumored that there will be a “Pro Max” model in the series. According to information revealed in April, the standard model will feature a 7,000mAh battery.
