Xiaomi has made a strong start to 2025 in the wearable technology market, taking the lead from Apple. The Chinese company, which has been competing with rivals such as Apple and Huawei for many years, has become the biggest player in the market with its sales figures in the first quarter.
Xiaomi has taken the lead in the wearable technology field
According to data published by Canalys and Omdia, Xiaomi sold a total of 8.7 million wearable devices in the first three months of 2025. This figure means a 44 percent increase compared to the previous year. The company’s global market share increased to 19 percent. It is stated that smart bracelets were particularly effective here.

Apple sold 7.6 million wearable devices in the same period. The company’s annual growth rate remained at 5 percent, while its market share was at 16.3 percent. With these results, Apple has relinquished its long-held leadership position to Xiaomi.
Huawei ranked third with 7.1 million sales. The Chinese company’s annual growth rate was 36 percent, while its market share was measured at 15.1 percent. There was a remarkable leap on the Samsung front. The South Korean manufacturer reached 4.9 million sales in the first quarter.
This performance enabled the company to grow by 74 percent on an annual basis. Samsung’s market share also increased to 10.6 percent. This rate means an increase of approximately 40 percent compared to the previous year.
The total sales of all manufacturers reached 46.6 million units, creating a 13 percent growth in the market. In the coming period, it is expected that competition will intensify not only in hardware but also in the area of ecosystem creation and after-sales services.
