Xiaomi has shared the first quarter 2025 data regarding its activities in the electric vehicle sector. The figures revealed that the company has significantly reduced its losses while expanding its production and sales scale in the automotive sector.
Xiaomi has started to rise in the electric vehicle sector
The company, which delivered 75,869 vehicles with the SU7 series in the first four months of the year, earned $2.58 billion in revenue from these sales. The company’s gross profit margin during this period was 23.2 percent. However, when operational expenses are taken into account, the total loss reached $70 million.

This data shows that Xiaomi lost approximately $900 on each vehicle sale. Despite this, this figure indicates a significant improvement compared to the loss of approximately $5,000 per vehicle recorded last year.
Xiaomi Group Partner and President Lu Weibing said that the main reasons for the loss are the new establishment of the production infrastructure, the company’s commissioning of its own factories and the development process of basic technologies within its own organization.
Xiaomi continues to attract attention not only with the SU7 but also with its newly introduced electric SUV model YU7 on the vehicle side. After the YU7 Technology Introduction Event held on May 25, the interest shown by users increased threefold compared to the company’s previous model SU7.
According to the data shared by Xiaomi, the number of potential customers who left their contact information during the pre-promotion process reached three times that of the SU7’s launch period. This data indicates that the new model may find a strong response in the market.
