A significant leak has surfaced suggesting that Xiaomi may be making a radical naming change to its foldable phone lineup. Following the company’s recent launch of the Mix Fold 4, there’s speculation that its next foldable device may abandon the Mix Fold branding entirely. Here are the details.
A Xiaomi 17 Fold May Be Coming
According to a report by XiaomiTime, a generally reliable source for Xiaomi, a new foldable phone has been spotted in the IMEI database with the model number 26023PN08C and the codename “pecan.”

This model number provides a significant clue about the device’s branding. Xiaomi’s current Mix Fold series (for example, 24072PX77C on the Mix Fold 4) has always used the “PX” label in its model codes. However, the “PN” label in the new leak is linked to the company’s main flagship series, such as the Xiaomi 17.
This suggests that Xiaomi may launch its next foldable directly under the name Xiaomi 17 Fold, rather than the Mix Fold 5 or Fold 6. While Xiaomi traditionally unveils its foldable phones in June, it’s rumored this new device could unexpectedly launch in February 2026. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to be unveiled around the same time.
Leaked hardware details focus on the camera. The Xiaomi 17 Fold is expected to largely mirror the setup found in the Mix Fold 3. This setup will include a 200-megapixel Samsung S5KHP5 main sensor, a 50-megapixel OV50M ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 50-megapixel OV50M auxiliary sensor, and a 16-megapixel OV16F front-facing camera.
For now, the Xiaomi 17 Fold is only available as a database entry. If the company follows through with this ambitious plan, new details about the foldable are expected to leak well before the official launch. Whether Xiaomi will strengthen its premium image by incorporating its flagship foldable device into its main numbered lineup remains to be seen.
