Xiaomi introduced the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro tablet models in China on October 29, attracting the attention of those expecting affordable and powerful tablets. Both powerful tablet models are not yet officially available in the global market, but they can be purchased outside China thanks to some import sites. But you should always think twice when buying imported products. Here is why
Xiaomi Pad 7 and 7 Pro start making their way out of China via imports
First of all, the new Pad 7 series uses Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2 software. However, when the devices are imported, they come with Chinese software (Paper OS 2) installed and although English language support is provided, some China-specific applications can be included in this system. This may make a slight difference for users who are used to the global version experience.
Let’s talk about the technical specifications. Xiaomi Pad 7 offers a powerful mid-upper segment performance using the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor. The Pad 7 Pro goes one step further and is equipped with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Both models feature an 11.2-inch screen.
It also comes with an 8,850 mAh battery capacity. Moreover, the new devices, which come with up to 12 GB RAM options, provide high performance in multitasking and are said to meet expectations, especially in intensive processes such as gaming and content production.
However, the import prices of these devices are higher than their prices in China. For example, the Xiaomi Pad 7 has a starting price of 409 dollars, while the Pad 7 Pro is available for around 506 dollars. Compared to their prices in China, the difference overlaps due to import costs.
Another important issue is the warranty. Although importer sites like TradingShenzhen have a reasonable warranty policy, if something goes wrong with the imported Xiaomi tablet, you have to send it back, which can be a bit uncomfortable and troublesome. Therefore, waiting for the devices to be released in Turkey is the best option for now.
