Although Xiaomi hasn’t launched the Pad 8 series in China for a long time, it’s already gearing up for its next move. According to a new report, the company has already begun work on the upcoming Pad 9 series. As expected, the series will include the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro, and their codenames have been revealed through a database listing.
Pad 9 Series Coming to the Global Market, But the Pad 9 Pro May Skip India
Rumors suggest the two tablets are codenamed “Erhu” and “Guitar,” respectively. This naming continues Xiaomi’s tradition of musical instrument-based naming, which has become synonymous with the brand and has been used for its previous-generation tablet series.

According to the leak, the Pad 9 series will reach most global markets except Japan. However, the report claims that the top-of-the-line Pad 9 Pro may skip the Indian market. While the Pad 8 series hasn’t even reached international markets yet, it’s too early to learn more about the Xiaomi Pad 9 series. Still, we can make some strong predictions about what to expect from the new series based on the current Pad 8 models.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Features: An 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate offers Dolby Vision and TÜV-certified eye protection. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and features a 9,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro Features: This model takes things a step further, offering a Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm) processor, a 50MP main camera, and 67W fast charging for the 9,200mAh battery. It also offers 4K video recording, multi-device connectivity, and a matte finish with an anti-reflective coating.
It’s interesting to see what other innovations Xiaomi will add to the Pad 9 series. The company appears determined to raise the bar in the Android tablet market once again with its new tablets.
