Xiaomi’s new electric SUV model YU7 has started to roll out of the production line ahead of its launch on June 26. More than 500 YU7s, which were produced to be exhibited in showrooms in leading cities in China, were assembled at the brand’s F1 (Phase 1) factory in Beijing.
Xiaomi YU7 is coming with ambition: 681 horsepower electric SUV on the way
Since the F2 (Phase 2) plant, which has not yet been commissioned, has not started production, all YU7 production is currently carried out on the same line with the SU7 sedan and SU7 Ultra. Xiaomi YU7 was officially introduced in China on May 22 and was delivered to dealers for static displays in major cities the same month.

Details about the car’s production process were shared by China-based National Business Daily a day before the launch date. The news included information that Xiaomi Auto initially produced vehicles only for display purposes and that these vehicles would not be offered for sale.
Factory employees stated that different numbers of YU7 crossovers come off the production line every day and the primary goal is to send vehicles to showrooms. Xiaomi’s F2 factory is being prepared to be dedicated solely to YU7 production.
The Xiaomi logo has been placed at the facility and the production line installation process has been completed. However, it is not certain when production will begin. The company’s F1 and F2 names represent two separate production phases of the same facility.
According to information previously shared by CEO Lei Jun, the YU7 SUV model has only 10% common parts with the SU7 sedan. Therefore, producing different platforms on the same line causes difficulties in the process. According to Xiaomi App data, this situation affects SU7 delivery times. The delivery time, which was 47-50 weeks at the beginning of June, has now increased to 49-52 weeks.
Xiaomi Group’s public relations manager Wang Hua announced in March 2024 that the production capacity was increased and a delivery target of 300 thousand units was targeted. This target was later increased to 480 thousand units. According to China EV DataTracker data, Xiaomi Auto sold a total of 132,467 vehicles in the first five months of 2025.
The technical features of the Xiaomi YU7 are also noteworthy. The SUV model is 4999 mm long, 1996 mm wide, 1608 mm high and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The entry-level model has a single electric motor producing 235 kW (315 hp). This motor is fed by a 96.3 kWh LFP battery and offers a CLTC range of up to 835 km. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.88 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h.
The YU7 Pro version has a dual-motor four-wheel drive system. This version, which offers 365 kW (489 hp), provides a range of 770 km with the same battery and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.27 seconds. The top model, the YU7 Max, has 508 kW (681 hp) of power.
This version, which uses a 101.7 kWh NMC battery, offers a range of 760 km. The model accelerates from 0 to 100 in 3.23 seconds and has a top speed of 253 km/h. The YU7 Max is also equipped with dual-chamber air suspension and four-piston Brembo brake calipers.
