Xiaomi’s new flagship series, the Xiaomi 17, is set to be unveiled in China on September 25th. New leaks have emerged suggesting that the series, which will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, will be focusing on battery life this time around. Here are the details.
The Xiaomi 17 series may feature a 7,500mAh battery
According to leaks surfacing on Weibo, the Xiaomi 17 series may boast some of the largest batteries ever seen in a premium device from the brand. Rumors suggest that the standard Xiaomi 17 model will pack a 7,000mAh battery, a significant increase from the 5,400mAh battery of the previous Xiaomi 15.

This alone, combined with the efficiency improvements of the new Snapdragon chip, could deliver a significant leap in battery life. The Xiaomi 17 Pro is rumored to feature a slightly smaller 6,300mAh battery than the base model. This capacity is still an improvement over the 6,100mAh battery in the previous 15 Pro.
The top-of-the-line Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is rumored to have a 7,500mAh battery, a massive size for a mainstream flagship. All three models will reportedly support 100W fast charging, faster than the previous generation’s 90W standard.
The leaker also shared a photo of a battery believed to belong to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. This battery is said to be a 6,800mAh unit, surpassing the 6,000mAh battery in last year’s 15 Ultra.
