China-based electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng is actively using the humanoid robot Iron, which it introduced at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, in its production lines. Iron, which works with the company’s own Turing AI chip, has been integrated into the assembly process with its high processing power and advanced movement capabilities.
Xpeng has launched its humanoid robot in automobile production
Iron is exactly 1.73 meters tall and weighs 70 kilograms. Designed in accordance with human proportions, the robot can undertake flexible tasks in production processes with its 60-joint structure and 200-degree freedom of movement.

Iron’s processing power is at the level of 3,000 TOPS. This power is also supported by large artificial intelligence models and reinforcement learning techniques. Xpeng states that Iron exhibits softer and more natural movements, unlike classic industrial robots; especially in walking abilities, results close to humans are obtained.
The robot’s interaction functions were also developed in accordance with Xpeng’s software infrastructure. The voice communication system adapted from the brand’s smart cockpit technology gives Iron the ability to establish natural conversations by performing logical analysis.
Iron uses a system called “Eagle Eye” in its visual perception ability. The robot, whose environmental awareness level is increased thanks to advanced cameras and sensors, has a 720-degree artificial intelligence vision system from Xpeng. Thanks to this, it can respond very quickly to environmental conditions.
Infrastructure work continues for the robot to be used in other areas. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
