XREAL is closing out 2025 with the release of the XREAL 1S, a new entry-level Augmented Reality (AR) headset. This new model slots below the more expensive XREAL One Pro, announced in July, and is the first device in its category to offer automatic 2D-to-3D conversion.
XREAL’s Entry-Level AR Glasses
Weighing just 82 grams, the glasses utilize Sony-made 0.68-inch OLED microdisplays with a 1920×1200 resolution per eye and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Switching to the new 2D-to-3D conversion mode reduces the refresh rate to 30Hz, but the headset still aims to deliver a stable viewing experience with a 52-degree field of view, 700 nits of brightness, and color accuracy.

A significant portion of this performance is provided by XREAL’s in-house developed X1 spatial computing chip. The company claims this chip can maintain latency as low as 3 ms, which is crucial for the XREAL 1S’s 3DoF head tracking support. This means the virtual screen remains fixed in space even when you move your head.
XREAL Product Manager Takao Takayama added that 3D transformation will also be coming to existing XREAL One and One Pro models via a software update around the 1S’s launch.
The glasses also feature several additional quality-of-life features. The audio quality is tuned by Bose, and the glasses feature four array microphones. Light transmittance can be automatically adjusted between 0%, 35%, and 100%, depending on the user’s desired level of isolation. The XREAL 1S is available in a single color, Silent Blue.
Along with the glasses, XREAL also introduced a new mobile battery pack called the XREAL Neo, designed with AR users in mind. Priced at ¥14,580, the Neo will be available in late January.
The Neo packs a 10,000mAh battery, two USB-C ports, and can charge a phone while simultaneously streaming video to AR glasses. Interestingly, the device can also function as a dock for the Nintendo Switch, including the new Nintendo Switch 2.
